Start-Ups: The New Fad in Town?

Start-up mania has hit the young and restless hard!

Some have become more restless than before because with more options it's kind of more confusing for them to decide what to do, while others are already deep into planning their first foray into business.

Looking at the current situation I recall the words of Brian Tracey, he said in one of his books that these are the most exiting times and also the best time to be alive in the history of humanity.

I agree completely.

Especially for those who want to achieve something meaningful in life.

Every situation when compared to previous times in our own lives, barring a few unfortunate incidents of terrorism or natural calamities; has improved many fold, Be it the technology to make living easier, be it the advances in health care, facilities in education to the poor ,or for that matter opportunities for the young and educated in business or career,  every thing generally speaking has improved many fold.

The only thing which in my eyes seems to have deteriorated; is the capacity and inclination of the young to put in the hard work wherever and whenever it is required.

Life in general has become so comfortable for the youth of the current generation that doing anything that requires changing current status quo is avoided. Fortunately there are quite a few who think other wise and regularly challenge the system and  are prepared to go the extra mile , do the hard work and put in the required effort to succeed.

There are dozens of examples that prove my point. So many of the currently successful startups are  the result of the 'brain work and brawn work ' of some youth.

The point I would like to make here is that lots of young people will take up the idea of becoming entrepreneurs, not for the sake of  having a burning desire to quench their creative thirst but to avoid the hard work of building a career in someone else's company, hence adding to the ever growing list of failed startups, because its clear that making a startup a success needs more than just a good idea and funding. It requires heavy ground work too.

Doing such work is not he idea of a good life for many.

Hope you get the point.
